Welcome to
Deeper church.

We exist to let people of every nation, ethnicity, and language know that the God of the universe desires to live, not in buildings made by hands, but in the hearts of every person who, by faith, will invite Him in.

core pillars

loving jesus and loving others

It goes without saying, and yet it needs to be said, that our number one priority here at Deeper Church is to love God with our entire being, and in like manner, love others (Deuteronomy 6:5; Matthew 22:36 & 39).

A Spirit-filled life

We wholeheartedly believe that God is alive and is actively at work. Miracles, signs, and wonders are still possible when we create an atmosphere and give the Holy Spirit room to work (Mark 16:17-18).

Cultivating Healthy Marriages & Families

We believe that healthy marriages and families equal a very healthy church, as the church is simply an extension of the home (Ephesians 5:25-30).

Unwavering Generosity

For us, generosity is more than a willingness to give financially; it includes the giving of time, talents, and treasure (Luke 6:26-38).

serving others

It is almost impossible to love others and not serve others. Deeper Church exists to reach as far and as wide as possible to meet the needs of others spiritually and physically (Matthew 25:35-40).

We Value Diversity

We believe that every person, no matter their generation, culture, and ethnicity, is made to glorify God and be part of His Kingdom (Revelation 7:9-10).

Empowered Men & Women

At Deeper Church we believe that both men and women can be used of God to preach, teach, and lead in various capacities (Galatians 3:26;28).

LEADERSHIP

Pastors Rohan and Suzan Thompson have been married since 2005 and have three sons, Jaiden, Nathaniel, and Rohan, Jr. (RJ). Both have served in ministry spanning three decades with a solid biblical foundation. Individually, they have unique gifts and talents that complement each other. Their greatest pleasure is spending time together as a family, playing games, and watching movies in their downtime. They’re committed to seeing others walk in a deeper relationship with Christ. God continues to fuel them with a passion for pointing others to Christ through sharing the Gospel.

Core beliefs

…that there is one true God, creator of all things, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; I Timothy 1:17)

…that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who lived a sinless life, died for the sins of the world, and rose again from the dead.   (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; 2 Corinthians 5:21)

…that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is the supreme source of truth and the final authority for all matters of Christian faith and practice. (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

…that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23)

…that the forgiveness of sins is available only by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. It is available to those who by faith, accept Christ as Savior and Lord. (John 3:16; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-9)

Christian baptism is one of two ordinances that Jesus instituted for the church. Just before His ascension, Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:19–20). These instructions specify that the church is responsible to teach Jesus’ word, making disciples, and baptizing those disciples. These things are to be done everywhere (“all nations”) until “the very end of the age.” So, if for no other reason, baptism has importance because Jesus commanded it.

…that the Holy Spirit is at work in the world today to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He dwells in every believer from the moment of salvation and equips them with gifts for the building up of the church. Obedience and fruit are a result of Him. (John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:22-25)

…that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to love God, love people, and make disciples.  (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:1-16)

We believe that people were created to live forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God because of sin, or eternally with God because of grace through faith in Jesus for salvation. The penalty for sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (John 2:25, 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15John 2:25, 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)
